wuthering heights

I’ve always admired fiery women. Why is that determination and ambition, traits that we praise in men, are found to be so repulsive in the gentler sex? Maybe that’s why I love Vivien Leigh so, she wasn’t afraid to go out and conquer her aspirations. She truly was a real life Catherine Earnshaw, Scarlett O’Hara. Tempestuous tantrums, doomed love affair, and all. And the face of an angel. I could stare at her portrait for all eternity and still be stunned by the beauty it captured. Perhaps we will meet in Wonderland someday, finding ourselves journeying on the same imaginary train. Here take this, she’ll say as she hands me a note sealed with wax. Could you please give it to my Larry?

Reading this has made me wistful and sentimental all of a sudden. But then again, your posts generally have that sort of effect on me (which is a good thing, by the way). :)

She's so, so, so lovely. I never get tired of seeing photos of her, she was almost ethereal. I'm glad you liked the photos on my site, and i loved this post! I have a feeling she and Larry are together somewhere :)

Thank you, Jennifer! My writing definitley comes from a wistful and sentimental place, so I'm glad that I've been able to capture that!

Aw, Kendra you are absolutely my inspiration for this entry! All your Vivien posts remind me of how she is my favorite actress and how much I love her! In fact, I wasn't even crazy about Laurence and Vivien as a couple until you came along and completely converted me!

haha, don't worry, i had to be converted a while back, but I'm glad I jumped on the Larry/Viv train. I feel like they had such a compelling, beautiful and tragic story. I just love reading about them and seeing photos of them together. sometimes I think you can see who much they adored each other--the way he'd look at her, awwww. ♥
